APPEAL TO THE ZIMBABWEAN MILITARY AND SECURITY FORCES
APPEAL TO THE ZIMBABWEAN MILITARY FORCES BY A YOUNG AFRICAN
LEADER-TALENT RUSERE
18/08/2020
It is an honor to share this message with you beloved
Zimbabwean Security Forces (Zimbabwe National Army ZNA & Zimbabwe Republic
Police ZRP) and all my fellow Zimbabwean citizens around the globe in the
spirit of democratic unity, love & respect for our nation.
I am no better man than any other ordinary Zimbabwean man on
the streets to deserve your respective attention. Once again it’s an honor to
have your attention.
Whether the mask is labeled fascism, democracy, or
dictatorship of the proletariat, our great adversary remains the apparatus—the
bureaucracy, the police, the military. Not the one facing us across the
frontier of the battle lines, which is not so much our enemy as our brothers'
enemy, but the one that calls itself our protector and makes us its slaves. No
matter what the circumstances, the worst betrayal will always be to subordinate
ourselves to this apparatus and to trample underfoot, in its service, all human
values in ourselves and in others.
It is a proud privilege to be a soldier or a policeman– a
good soldier … [with] discipline, self-respect, pride in his unit and his
country, a high sense of duty and obligation to comrades and to his superiors,
and a self-confidence born of demonstrated ability, but the most dangerous
people in the world are not the tiny minority instigating evil acts, but those
who do the acts for them. For example, when the British invaded Zimbabwe, many
Zimbabweans accepted to work for the British to kill off Zimbabweans who
resisted their occupation. So in other words, many Zimbabweans were hired to
kill other Zimbabweans on behalf of the enemy for a paycheck.
Today, our beloved security forces have become mercenaries,
tagged to political elites as corporate armies, oppressing citizens to surf
guard corruption and avenues of misery against its very population, killing
their own people for a paycheck. Acting without conscience for a paycheck, has
turned our state security forces leaders into dangerous animals. Zanu pf would
be powerless if they couldn't entice soldiers and police to do their work.
Money continues to seduce the hungry, the hopeless, the broken, the greedy, and
the needy yes, but we are all in the same misery and as long as our soldiers
remain tagged to Zanu pf, the situation will remain. Should we keep arm bushing
against the ordinary civilians and our very own families against the once fighting
our very own existence. They use you to destroy our health systems by violating
the rights of our nurses and doctors, living all our hospitals empty and
worthless but when they fall sick they fly to foreign countries. If your child
or your wife fall sick, are they giving you the money to fly out as well…… they
have destroyed our educational systems stealing and sharing funds among themselves,
but they send their children abroad for better education…what about you….what
about me, aren’t we all victims of the same solipsistic and mendacious leadership,,,so
why can’t we team up and face the common enemy for the betterment of us all and
the future of our children…I am not trying to conquer anyone but I am
exercising my right of opinion.
A nation that continues year after year to spend more money
on military defense than on programs of social uplift is approaching freedom of
doom and anti-democracy because as long as a population can be induced to
believe in a supernatural hereafter, it can be oppressed and controlled. People
will put up with all sorts of tyranny, poverty, and painful treatment if
they're convinced that they'll eventually escape to some resort in the sky
where lifeguards are superfluous and the pool never closes. Moreover, the
faithful are usually willing to risk their skins in whatever military adventure
their government may currently be promoting and this may result in an unending
civil war.
Once again……. It is a proud privilege to be a soldier – a
good soldier … [with] discipline, self-respect, pride in his unit and his
country, a high sense of duty and obligation to comrades and to his superiors,
and a self-confidence born of demonstrated ability remembering that, the
soldier is the Army. No army is better than its soldiers. The Soldier is also a
citizen. In fact, the highest obligation and privilege of being a soldier or a
police is that of bearing arms for the population’s wellbeing and protection
not politicians .
I thank you
Yours faithfully
Talent Rusere
